IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG), today announced the signing of a new build Crowne Plaza hotel in a coveted location along Mexico City’s famed Avenida de los Insurgentes. Scheduled to break ground in early 2024 ahead of a planned 2026 opening, Crowne Plaza Mexico City Insurgentes will serve as a regional halo property for the brand and – upon its return to the nation’s capital – join a roster of seven* currently open Mexico properties.
Crowne Plaza Mexico City Insurgentes will provide a host of premium amenities and flexible workspaces to welcome business, leisure and blended travelers. Each of the hotel’s 230 rooms will include ample and modern spaces for a seamless transition between productivity and relaxation, with the brand’s signature Plaza Workspace – a bundle of adaptive meeting areas and private soundproof booths in the hotel’s public area that support individual and collaborative productivity – available to guests and the general public. Guests also will enjoy the hotel’s scenic rooftop bar and dine at a to-be-named restaurant concept befitting of its location.
Beyond its prominent place among the longest avenue in Mexico City, Crowne Plaza Mexico City Insurgentes offers convenient access to many of the city’s most visited destinations. IHG will collaborate with owner Fideicomiso 1870/2014 and designer Interaq on Crowne Plaza Mexico City Insurgentes’ blueprint, construction and operational plans.
