With 25 years of taking care of travellers, 25 years of embracing the environment, 25 years of empowering communities, Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts commemorate its 25th anniversary of exceptional experience with over 25 percent group-wide reduction of single-use plastic in a year as well as various attractive deals at all its 48 hotels worldwide.

The Group announced a pledge against single-use plastic in support of the Earth Day 2018 theme, End Plastic Pollution. Within a year, this declaration has inspired change across its 48 hotels worldwide and successfully eliminated 4.2 million single-use plastic items, equating to a significant 26 percent reduction in total usage.

In Vietnam, besides joining the group campaign of single-use plastic reduction, Banyan Tree Lăng Cô resort also offers 25 percent off the best available rates on spa, food & beverage and the gallery when booking a minimum of two nights at Banyan Tree Lăng Cô.

Guests to Banyan Tree Lăng Cô this year can enjoy one complimentary exceptional experience among three categories. The first activity is a Self-Wellness Retreat experience, which starts the day with yoga, followed by a traditional lantern-making class. The day continues with a tour of an organic farm and wraps up with a dinner made with organic ingredients from the farm.

The second choice is the Relationships-Localized Date experience. This specially-curated date will include a trip to the local market where the guest can select from a choice of seafood for dinner. “Our chefs will then design a personalized dinner menu for both of you to enjoy at a private dining location.”

Another should-not-miss experience is the Community-Farm-to-Table Dining package, where guests can pick their own ingredients from the hotel’s organic farm and cook their own meal with the resort’s chefs. This unique experience will give hotel guests a fresh take on everyday produce and a better understanding of agriculture.

The Group’s commitment to the End Plastic Pollution campaign has involved championing 25 years of sustainable development since its inception in 1994. Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts has pioneered the journey of stewardship in its commitment towards the environment and communities through its philosophy of “Embracing the Environment, Empowering People”.

Aimed to be launched this year, aimed at an overall plastic reduction, the Group’s lifestyle retail arm – Banyan Tree Gallery is developing sustainable alternatives for its range of guests’ amenities, such as cotton buds, combs, and toothbrushes. Banyan Tree’s reformulated body and aromatherapy products are made from 95 percent natural botanical ingredients which are sustainably sourced. 18-months of research and development extended across the value chain of both its packaging and ingredients so as to create the best possible products for people and the environment.

“This is a positive first step in the right direction, considering the magnitude of Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts’ ultimate plastic-free goal,” said Dr Steve Newman, assistant vice president/Group sustainability director. “The hospitality and tourism industry as a whole is a major consumer of this planet’s resources, often providing onetime use products on mass scales. Looking at the links between human activities, plastic pollution and biodiversity loss with environment degradation, this presents a unique opportunity for our Group to impact and drive change on global plastic consumption amongst our stakeholders especially the suppliers. As a pioneer with ongoing stewardship in sustainability, the Group remains committed to our pledge to eliminate single-use plastic and continue to embed climate change within our sustainability efforts and projects.”
