Hotel Excelsior Venice Lido Resort

Situated along its namesake beach overlooking the Adriatic Sea, the renownedÊHotel Excelsior Venice Lido Resort (the Lido) is set to reopen its doors and reveal the first phase of a series of renovations on April 12, 2018. The three-year plan aims to breathe new life into the Venetian landmark while honouring the historic architecture and belle Žpoque design that guests have enjoyed for more than one hundred years.

Among the initial renovations, guests will be greeted by new, sophisticated and modern surface finishes throughout the property. In addition, the Venetian-Byzantine style faade and its historic cupola have been restored to its former glory following a fire in 2014. The subsequent phases of the masterplan will be implemented throughout the next two years, including style updates to the 197 luxurious bedrooms and public areas, as well as a new food and beverage strategy. In June 2018, La Taverna, a beach level restaurant with serene sea views, will kick off summer with a fresh design and menu. Like the architectural restorations taking place at the Lido, the restaurant’s new dishes are rooted in traditional Italian culture and cuisine.

The project is brought to life by the London & Regional Properties Group (L+R), an international hotel investment specialist with a portfolio of around 12,000 hotel rooms, who became the sole operating management company of the Lido in December 2016. In May 2017, they implemented a re-financing plan to fund the three-year relaunch plan in partnership with Coima SGR, a leading independent manager of real estate investment funds on behalf of Italian and international corporate investors.

In addition to property renovations, The Hotel Excelsior Venice Lido Resort welcomes a new management team featuring top talent from prestigious luxury firms. The General Manager Alessio Lazazzera landed at the Lido in June 2017, having previously run the general management of hotels in the St. Regis and Luxury Collection brand, with twelve years spent overseeing the re-launch of the Hotel Quisisana in Capri. In February 2018, he was joined by Daniele Trombacco in the role of Director of Sales & Marketing. Trombacco started his career in the hospitality sector in 2001, holding various positions with Hilton Hotels & Resorts until 2008. He went on to become Director of Sales & Marketing at several Italian hotels including the Rome Cavalieri, Waldorf Astoria Resort in Rome, the Relais & Ch‰teaux Eden Roc in Punta Cana and the Verdura Resort, part of Rocco Forte Hotels.
