The Hamburg-based hotel group has already secured the historic Hotel Moser Verdino in Domgasse 2 right in the centre of Klagenfurt, the capital of the state of Carinthia.

“Besides expanding our midscale niu brand, we also want to grow our premium Select brand and, while doing so, are really looking forward to working at this new and lucrative location in Carinthia,” states David Etmenan, Chief Executive Officer & Owner of NOVUM Hospitality.

Strategic partner for the development is the LILIHILL Capital Group. The Austrian investment company had already bought the traditional hotel from Generali Insurance previously. With an investment volume of around 20 million Euros, the hotel is to be rebuilt and completely refurbished over the next 1.5 years as part of the development and transformed into a four-star NOVUM Hospitality Select Hotels brand superior hotel.

The current planning for the Select Hotel in Klagenfurt shows that it will have 120 rooms and is due to open in the second quarter of 2019. The ground floor will house a restaurant and the highlight will be a sky-bar on the roof terrace, the very first sky-bar in Klagenfurt. Preservation of the traditional charm of the hotel, along with its facade, which is famous throughout the city, is just as important to the partners as the numerous modernisations being undertaken.

“With NOVUM Hospitality, we have succeeded in bringing a premium and prestigious hotel operator on-board that is certain to generate new and strong momentum for city tourism at this location in Klagenfurt,” states Franz Peter Orasch, CEO & Owner of the LILIHILL Capital Group.
