Sun Valley unveils completion of recent renovations

width=Sun Valley Resort is excited to announce the completion of its current phase of renovations including new culinary concepts and improvements to the Sun Valley Inn, which enhance the guest experience through modern updates, attention to detail, and a refreshed look and feel.

The pinnacle of the renovations is the grand opening of the much-anticipated Village Station, an all-new, family-friendly restaurant with a full-service bar, pizza, sandwiches, salads, and four large-screen televisions. This casual spot hosts a nightly happy hour from 3:00 p.m. Ð 5:00 p.m. and includes 12 craft beers on tap with six rotating handles, along with appetizers such as the Mozzarella Bricks. Menu items include the Short Rib Ragu with braised short rib, creamy polenta, maitake mushrooms, parmigiana, and herbs; as well as the locals’ favourite, Chicken Parmesan. For those wishing to grab and go, take-out options include such dishes as Spaghetti Bolognese and Chicken Piccata, available in large and regular portions, based on the number of people.

The Ram, a modern steakhouse featuring an upscale menu which incorporates locally-sourced ingredients, has undergone a complete remodel featuring an exhibition kitchen, nightly wine specials, and an updated menu. The historical charm remains, while modern renovations provide an inviting and warm atmosphere. Featured dishes include 44 Farms Angus Ribeye, Rocky Mountain Lamb Shank, and Idaho Ruby Trout. Keeping true to its roots, The Ram which opened in 1937, gives the nod to classic entrees served throughout the decades with the Heritage Dinners, such as The Hemingway Hasenpfeffer from 1954 and the Hungarian Goulash from 1966. Reasonably priced at $25, guests can enjoy a different meal each day of the week.

What’s more, The Ram Bar has reopened following a revamp and now features craft cocktails, batch cocktails served in punch bowls, regional beers on tap, and wines from the Sun Valley cellar. Updates to the iconic bar include hardwood floors, a fireplace, three large screen televisions, and new furniture.

A number of the rooms were combined to increase their size and comfort, to create 20 rooms and one suite. The remaining 80 guest rooms will be renovated in the Fall of 2018, with completion planned for next December. After the project is complete, the Inn will have 98 completely remodelled guest rooms.

Sun Valley is offering lodging and skiing packages throughout the winter season. It’s the perfect time to stay in one of the remodelled rooms, enjoy dinner at the Village Station, and spend time on the slopes.
