
Hotel 1000, LXR Hotels & Resorts has appointed Jeffery Modaff as general manager of the MICHELIN 1 Key, 120-room boutique hotel in downtown Seattle. In his new role, Modaff oversees daily hotel operations while ensuring an exceptional guest experience delivered with Pacific Northwest hospitality.
A seasoned leader in the luxury and lifestyle space, Modaff brings extensive expertise in building strong teams, elevating hotels to award-winning acclaim, and driving operational excellence. He joins Hotel 1000 from Conrad Los Angeles, where he served as opening hotel manager and helped the brand’s West Coast flagship earn multiple distinctions and accolades, including Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star and AAA Four Diamond ratings, as well as securing spots on Travel + Leisure’s It List of best new hotels and Condé Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Awards.
Modaff built his foundational industry experience at Ojai Valley Inn in Ojai, Calif. Rising through the ranks to housekeeping operations manager and guest services manager, Modaff assisted the renowned historic resort through a $90 million renovation project, ultimately achieving AAA Five Diamond status. While at Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa on California’s Central Coast, his leadership as director of rooms played a key role in maintaining the hotel’s Forbes Four-Star, AAA Four Diamond and TripAdvisor #1 ratings throughout his tenure. During his nearly 25-year career, Modaff has also held executive-level positions at Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort & Club and Shade Hotel Manhattan Beach, both in Southern California.
