Travelodge, announces the appointment of Demi Turner as Director of Sustainability – a newly created role at Travelodge which further strengthens the company’s commitment to its ESG Strategy.
Demi will take on a key role as the Group, which operates almost 600 hotels across the UK, Ireland and Spain, accelerates its commitment to its Better Future Plan.
Demi brings a wealth of expertise to Travelodge, having worked across a range of companies including Whitbread, KFC, ASOS and WPP, with experience spanning over almost two decades in sustainability, innovation and social impact.
Demi will lead and coordinate the evolution of Travelodge’s sustainability strategy as well as work to reduce the company’s carbon footprint, in a bid to become a net-zero business by 2050.
Reporting into Travelodge’s Chief Operating Officer, Claire Good, Demi will help to cement the company’s Better Future Plan for its customers, colleagues and the environment which Travelodge has underpinned by three core pillars; Inclusive, Caring and Conscious As well as working towards fulfilling Travelodge’s Environmental commitments,
Demi’s expertise will also play a part in facilitating the company’s additional responsibilities within its ESG framework, Social and Governance. These both play an instrumental role in the company’s sustainability strategy as well as its overall business model, which further demonstrates Travelodge’s care on the impact of decision making.
Demi will work across Travelodge, with additional teams, to develop plans to help ensure Travelodge is future-proofed against the impacts of climate change and other socioeconomic factors. Additional key priorities across the business include the assessment of further water conservation opportunities, reviewing Travelodge’s waste & circularity targets and the development of its nature & biodiversity strategy.
