El Grupo SN, the parent company of the newly opened NYC rooftop venue, Somewhere Nowhere, announced the appointment of Genesis Nunez as the company’s Director of Events and Sales.
In her new role, Nunez will be responsible for leading new business for corporate and leisure clients, executing all event needs for her clients, from booking the lounge and rooftop or one of the venue’s two distinct ballrooms to curating a thoughtful menu for their guests.
Bringing years of event planning experience, Nunez most recently held the position of Director of Private Events for Gantry Hospitality, where she established an event program for both Maiella and American Brass, specifically catering to their cuisine style, clientele, and potential for financial growth. The company’s event sales for 2019 were $2.5 million thanks to a more organized, sales-driven and team-fortified event program lead by Nunez.
Prior to her time at Gantry Hospitability, Nunez served as a Senior Event Manager for popular NYC spot, Midtown Loft & Terrace where she helped to increase sales by 18 percent, while also delivering on the complex needs of special events and diverse clients. Nunez’s experience also includes holding the position of Events Coordinator for Celtic Developers Group, where she maintained and fortified a working relationship with clients, managed staff in high volume settings, as well as produced, managed, and oversaw events, including the day-of-problem-solving, directing event set-up, communicating with staff, organizing vendors, and managing event take-down.

Well-versed in project proposals and analytical by nature, Nunez takes her expertise in both corporate and social event planning and runs with it all while sticking within budget. As Nunez steps into her role at El Grupo SN, she is eager to tackle both big and small projects and help take sales to the next level.
Nunez is a graduate from Parsons the New School, where she earned a degree in Food Studies and Marketing. She also holds a Professional Culinary Arts Diploma from the International Culinary Center in New York. Since 2015, Nunez has volunteered for City Meals on Wheels, a non-profit organization that provides a continuous lifeline of nourishing meals and vital companionship to New York’s homebound elderly neighbors.
