Prior to relocating to Austin, Hardesty was the general manager at Andaz West Hollywood, a famed hotel on the iconic Los Angeles’ Sunset Strip, for over two years. Throughout his Hyatt career, he held numerous leadership roles throughout the country including Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa; Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe; Grand Hyatt Denver; and Hyatt Regency Orlando where he oversaw the transition of the 1,641-room Peabody Orlando Hotel.
“Austin’s unmatched vibrancy, the warmth and authentic hospitality of its people and the local culture is what has always drawn me to this destination, and I am delighted to introduce two new Hyatt hotels as the forthcoming hottest social club in downtown Austin for visitors and locals alike,” says Hardesty. “We are looking forward to working with the Austin community through partnerships and thoughtful community-driven collaborations and to ushering in a new era of hospitality to ATX this summer.”
A veteran in the hospitality industry, Hardesty is a natural fit to lead the opening and operations for Thompson and tommie Austin. With a commitment to connecting the hotels to the local community, Hardesty is well placed to oversee the hotels’ combined 422 rooms, suites, and residences, several food and beverage outlets, meetings spaces, guest experience programs and more.
