Jay Sheldon named GM for The Equinox Golf Resort & Spa

Jay SheldonBENCHMARK, a global hospitality company, has named Jay Sheldon general manager for The Equinox Golf Resort & Spa, a Gemstone Collection property located in Manchester Village, Vermont. Greg Champion, Benchmark’s president & COO, made the announcement.
 
“It is a pleasure to welcome Jay to Benchmark and to this magnificent resort,” said Mr. Champion. “He comes to us with strong leadership and operational experience gained at first rate properties and for major luxury brands over the past couple of decades. Jay is the ideal professional to lead The Equinox into a promising future.”
 
Jay Sheldon brings over 25 years of luxury brand experience to his new position with The Equinox Golf Resort & Spa. Previously he was general manager of The Omni Richmond Hotel located in Richmond, Virginia. Prior to this he held the title of hotel manager for the Omni Fort Worth Hotel, a position he was promoted to after successfully serving as director of operations for the property. Earlier in his career he held positions of leadership for The Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center, as well as for Ritz-Carlton resorts in Palm Beach, St. Thomas and Aspen.
 
A native of New England having been born and raised in Massachusetts, Mr. Sheldon is a graduate of the University of Hartford in West Hartford, Connecticut. He will be relocating to the Manchester Village area his family.
