The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe, located mid-mountain at Northstar California Resort, is pleased to announce the new appointment of Bernd Pichler as Hotel Manager.
Pichler joins the luxury mountain resort with more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry and an impressive background in sales and operations spanning internationally.
Prior to joining The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe, Pichler served as operations manager at Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa. Pichler held additional positions with Fairmont Hotels and Resorts at Fairmont Bab Al Bahr (Abu Dhabi, UAE), Fairmont Pittsburgh (Pittsburgh, PA), Fairmont Grand Del Mar (San Diego, CA), and Fairmont San Francisco (San Francisco, CA). Prior to that, he held sales and hospitality positions at The Langham in London, The Chelsea Hotel in Toronto, and The Leading Hotels of the World representing the UK, Norway, Iceland, Denmark and Israel.
Pichler earned a degree in International Hospitality & Tourism Management in his homeland of Austria. Continuing his personal studies, he attended universities in Canada, Spain and the U.S., including an Asset Management program at Cornell University. He is a certified sommelier and fluently speaks English, German, Spanish, and French.
