Sunway Hotels & Resorts, the hospitality division of Malaysian conglomerate Sunway Group, has announced the appointment of Bhuvanes Krishnasamy as Group Director of Human Resources.
Bhuvanes will be responsible for the hospitality group’s strategic framework within human resources with a particular focus on talent management, driving optimal performance through people strategy and leadership development, and to further embed Sunway’s corporate culture to the 11 Sunway Hotels & Resorts in Malaysia, Cambodia and Vietnam.
A Malaysian national, Bhuvanes has more than 15 years of human resources leadership experience. She is not new to the Sunway network, with the most recent role as the Head of Human Resources with Sunway Integrated Properties, leading the full spectrum of human resources function for the business unit and also held several cluster roles with Sunway in the areas of human resources planning and strategy, learning and development, quality assurance and knowledge management that resulted in the effective implementation of ISO 9001 Quality Management system and ISO14001 Environmental Management System. Prior to joining Sunway Integrated Properties, she served as the People & Organization Partner, responsible for South East Asia and Australia at Novozymes (M), the world’s leader in biological solutions.
In her new capacity, Bhuvanes will be responsible for the human resources strategy and programme execution, to ensure achievement of the company’s growth strategy and transformative human capital initiatives for Sunway’s diverse collection of hotels and resorts in Malaysia, Cambodia and Vietnam, which represents over 2,000 employees.

Bhuvanes holds a Masters of Business Administration degree in Human Resources from University Putra Malaysia; following a dual certificate from Lancaster University and Sunway University in a Post Graduate of Achievement in Foundation of Business Programme. She also attained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Malaya Malaysia. Bhuvanes has additional management and professional learning coursework completed at Harvard Club of Malaysia at its Premier Business Management Programme.
