Ben Schumacher appointed Regional Director of Franchise Operations of Wyndham Hotel Group

Ben first joined Wyndham in 2016 as Franchise Services Manager overseeing the South Pacific region. In his newly expanded role, Ben will lead a team of Franchise Services Managers in Asia to oversee and support a portfolio of 82 franchised properties across South East Asia and the South Pacific. He will continue to be based out of Wyndham’s corporate headquarters on the Gold Coast, Australia and serve as the primary relationship manager for all South Pacific franchised hotels.Ê

The team, led by Ben will be vital in growing Wyndham’s relationships with master franchisees, individual franchised hotel operators as well as management companies representing hotel developers. They will provide expert assistance focused on strategic growth, dedicated onsite support and consultation on all areas of hotel operations, and provide training to on-property teams to maximise the use of Wyndham’s global tools, systems and resources.

Before joining Wyndham, Ben was the Director of Operations at Hilton Surfers Paradise where he was responsible for the effective operational management of the hotel. During his 11-year tenure with Hilton hotels and resorts in Australia and New Zealand, Ben was also recognised with multiple accolades including New Zealand Young Hotel Manager of the Year in 2009.

Wyndham’s Senior Vice President Resort Operations and Property Development, Matt Taplin, said Ben has played an instrumental role in both opening and supporting the franchised hotels in the South Pacific.
