Rachael Harman newly appointed as the GM of Le Méridien Kota Kinabalu

Rachael Harman has been newly appointed as the general manager of Le Méridien Kota Kinabalu. In her new role, Rachael is responsible for all areas in the hotel including future development of associates, product improvement, financial performance and guest satisfaction.

Born in Adelaide, Australia, Rachael has gained her wealth of experience and knowledge as a passionate hotelier throughout her home country, New Zealand and Malaysia. Rachael’s notable 19 years of career with Starwood Hotels and Resorts began in Food and Beverage at Sheraton on the Park, Sydney. She then moved on to numerous roles at Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas, The Westin Melbourne and The Westin Auckland Lighter Quay.

Captivated by the diverse culture of Malaysia, Rachael moved to Kuala Lumpur in 2010 to join The Westin Kuala Lumpur. Over her 6 years at The Westin, she held various key management positions including Hotel Manager and the Director of Sales and Marketing where she successfully drove top line performance to build the hotel back to peak years.

“I am extremely proud to join one of Kota Kinabalu’s leading hotels which has recently unveiled a new look after undergoing a chic renovation,” Rachael commented. “I eagerly look forward to working with the dynamic team of associates to ensure that we continue delivering enriching brand experiences for our guests so they leave feeling fulfilled and having discovered the beauty of Sabah,” she added.
