Capsule Services, Adrie Vreeke, Co-founder & CEO – ‘Solo Travel ~ An Answer to the Increasing Demand’

Solo travel is on the rise post-pandemic, but so are travellers’ expectations. Safety, environmental footprint and rich experiences are deciding factors. In this keynote session, Adrie will provide insights on a stay category that is rapidly gaining popularity, capsules (or pods). And how the hospitality market can implement them and gain both guest satisfaction and revenue.

Lamington Group, Melisa Gooding, Sustainability & Communications Specialist – ‘How Can We Make Hospitality More Sustainable?’

As Sustainability and Communications Specialist for Lamington Group, Melisa is involved in sustainability strategy, engaging the workforce in sustainable practices and communicating this both internally and externally.

The built environment is responsible for a whopping 40 per cent of the world’s carbon emissions, and the hotel industry has been criticized for lagging in decarbonising.

This seminar will look at Lamington Group’s experience of implementing a net-zero strategy, engaging your workforce and lessons that we are learning along the way.

IHG Hotels & Open Ear and Swell, Finlay Anderson & Brian d’Souza – ‘Unlikely Partners ~ Pairing Traditional with Technology for Unique Experiences’

Finlay Anderson has over 20 years of experience working at all levels of the spa and leisure industry and is currently heading up the wellness offerings at IHG Hotels UK. Finlay was voted 2021 Spa Director of The Year and Top Influencer by Professional Beauty.

Brian d’Souza is an award-winning sound artist, DJ, music producer and live performer. His compositions fuse field recordings from around the globe with electro-acoustic production techniques to create ‘acoustic ecologies’ that are centred on exploring the psychological and physical benefits of sound.

This unlikely pair will be educating you on how to combine traditional sound therapy with modern technology to deliver unique guest experiences in both the spa and hotel setting. Creating and developing a technology-led approach to allow mindfulness sessions in a variety of settings to improve guest satisfaction as well as drive revenue.

The NoMad Hotel, Nadim Nehme, Head of Event Operations – ‘What Is Luxury Hospitality?’

How are we redefining luxury in the hospitality industry? How has it evolved? Nadim will be answering this question and the emotional connection in luxury hospitality.

Born in Lebanon, Nadim grew up in Paris where he earned a degree in Maths and applied Economics at La Sorbonne. Later that year, during an internship at Plaza Athenee, Nadim realised that making people happy in a luxury atmosphere is his passion and decided to enrol in Glion Institute, Hospitality School, Switzerland. Before joining The NoMad, Nadim had taken a hiatus to earn his MBA from LSE, alongside starting an NGO ”Les Valises pour Beyrouth” for humanitarian relief following the Beirut blast of August 2020.

Best Western Hotel Group, Andrew Denton MBE, Director of Comms, Content & Brand – ‘STAND UP AND STAND OUT’

Andrew was awarded an MBE earlier in the year for his “vision and innovation” to turn hotels into hospitals to support the NHS through the worst of the pandemic. It was the first time hotels have been used as hospitals since the Second World War.

This venture turned out to be just the start of an incredible brand journey for Andrew and Best Western GB, which is still evolving today with its industry-leading ‘Booking Good’ campaign. Andrew’s story will inspire you to unlock your hidden potential and drive your hotel business beyond its limit.
