Critically acclaimed Boston-based musician, seven-time Boston Music Awards winner and recording artist Will Dailey has partnered with Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport as its Artist in Residence, orchestrating the line-up of distinguished local musicians and artists throughout the hotel.
Unlike any other hotel in Boston, Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport’s extensive collection of art propels the immersion of each guest into Boston’s rich performing arts scene. Dailey has curated a talented line-up of performers for the lobby stage called the Lobby Live! Series, that shines a light on Boston’s wealth of talent and exemplifies the hotel’s many ties to the arts community. This exclusive series takes place every Thursday through Saturday from 7:00pm to 9:00pm while also being open to the public.
In addition to the lobby stage, Will Dailey curates entertainment at Lifted Restaurant, the only outdoor hotel rooftop pool in Boston’s burgeoning Seaport District including live spins every Saturday from 4:00pm to 7:30pm and Sunday from 12:00pm to 3:00pm featuring many of the cities most creative DJs. On the pool deck, Dailey curated the Soundwaves Pool Deck Music Series for hotel guests offering exclusive and intimate concerts by touring artists.
As the sun goes down, Dailey also tapped local DJ’s to perform at the hotel’s upscale sports bar, The Sporting Club, a place for guests to have elevated bar snacks, enjoy a variety of beer and dance to unique beats.
“Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport is rooted in the creative arts, paying homage to Boston’s rich history of visual and performing heritage, technological innovation, and unrivaled academic tradition,” says Managing Director, Michael Jorgensen. “We are thrilled to have someone like Will activate our performance stages and bars with talented musicians just like himself.”
Finally, Dailey introduced a new genre of performance art to the Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport with the Summer Authorship Series in Lifted Restaurant, Earfull mini bringing local authors to read from their work, accompanied by live musical performances. Books from this unique series will live on the bookshelf at the hotel’s upscale Mediterranean restaurant and bar, Kestra.
Lifted Restaurant also plays host to once-monthly SoFar Sounds concerts, staging intimate performances by three “secret” local musicians in Lifted’s Privacy Room. Each musician performs for fifteen minutes, delivering an authentic experience for hotel guests and the Boston public.
Dailey has also tapped the talents of Berklee student Charles Loyst, a multi-dimensional jazz pianist whose inspirations include Bill Evans and Wynton Kelly, to fill Kestra with the ambiance and relaxation of a jazz lounge.
“As a Boston-based artist, it’s rewarding to contribute to a place where city’s deep history of visual and performing arts is valued,” said Will Dailey. “There is nothing like listening to live music, and Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport celebrates that through and through.”
